Trauma/PTSD

Running on fight-or-flight fuel

Lisa* was a go-getter.

She would constantly push herself to be better in all areas. Deep down, though, she lived in constant fear.

Despite her efforts to grow, she felt immobilized by overwhelming waves of shame and fear, leaving her feeling like a little girl all over again.

Fear was never far behind, like an unwelcome companion.

Angry at herself

Lisa would silently yell at herself, “Why can’t I figure this out?”

She’s been through this broken record maybe 5,000 times.

Lisa feels stuck. She’s losing hope that she’ll ever change, no matter how many self-help books and programs she throws at this ‘problem.’

Deep wounds lay within.

Lisa suffered abuse for years – consistently getting yelled at by her father and being bullied by other kids.

She’s told herself and others, “I’m over it.”

She thinks, “There is no use going back there. After all, who would want to open that can of worms again?”

There’s a way to heal effectively.

Through specific trauma therapies like EMDR, Lisa healed from destructive patterns by identifying their source (hint: not what she thought it was) and processing it in session.

To her surprise, she became More Productive because she quit wasting her internal energy waging war against herself anymore.

Being freed up, Lisa could choose to direct her energy where she wanted rather than constantly responding to her panic and dread.

She felt thrilled with the progress she made – coming to new realizations about her past and gaining more mastery over her thoughts, life, and emotions.

What is with this EMDR stuff?

EMDR helps access and heal the source of emotional wounds in your brain and nervous system.

You quickly and effectively forge new connections so that the trauma no longer affects you.

Through EMDR, you learn to face your fears and channel those fears into more positive thought processes – allowing you to put that fear behind you.
